How to Use & Care
Before first use
- Wash the kettle in warm, soapy water, then boil a full kettle of water once and pour it away.
Using it
- Fill it to no more than 80% of its capacity, about 2 L.
- Close the lid and the spout cap, then set it on the hob.
- When it whistles, turn off the heat, lift it by the handle and pour.
Cleaning
- Wash by hand, then empty it and let it dry after each use.
- In hard-water areas, descale now and then by boiling equal parts water and white vinegar, then rinse well.
Precautions
- Never heat the kettle empty.
- On gas, keep the flame under the base and away from the handle.
- The steel body gets very hot: hold the kettle only by its handle, and keep your hand clear of the spout, where the steam comes out.

Will it work on my hob?
Yes: gas, electric and induction. Set it on a ring that suits its base, and it heats water for the whole pot.
On gas, keep the flame under the base rather than up the sides, so the handle stays comfortable to hold.

Does it work on induction?
Yes. It works on induction, gas and electric hobs.
How much water does it hold?
2.5 L. Fill it to about 80%, around 2 L, so boiling water doesn’t spill from the spout. That’s plenty for a large pot or several cups. The full measurements are under Details & Specifications above.
Does the handle fold down?
Yes, the handle folds down, so the kettle takes up less room when you put it away.
Does the handle get hot?
The handle has a wood-effect finish, made to be comfortable to hold. Keep gas flames under the base, and keep your hand clear of the spout, where the steam comes out. The body itself gets very hot.
How do I look after it?
Empty it after use and let it dry. In hard-water areas, remove limescale now and then by boiling equal parts water and white vinegar, then rinse well. We recommend washing it by hand, to keep the colour at its best.
Is it a good gift?
A lovely one for a new home or a tea lover’s kitchen. Delivery takes 7–14 days in total, Monday to Friday (2–4 days processing, then 5–10 days shipping, both Monday to Friday), so order a little ahead for a birthday.
