About OOLO

The slow ritual.

OOLO is a house of tea objects: teapots, cups, infusers and the small things that make a pot of tea worth stopping for.

Where the name comes from

It began with a single leaf.

OOLO takes its name from oolong, the tea that sits between green and black: partly oxidised, often rolled into tight pearls, and happy to be brewed again and again.

From that one leaf grew everything else. Today OOLO is a house of tea objects: teapots in cast iron, glass and ceramic, cups and mugs, infusers and the small tools that make tea a moment rather than a drink.

Look closely at our name and you’ll find the last O is a cup, with a thread of steam rising from it. That is the whole idea.

What we look for

Chosen to be used, not just admired.

  • How it pours

A clean spout, a lid that stays put, a handle that sits well in the hand.

  • How it holds heat

Iron that keeps a pot warm, glass that lets you watch the leaves open, ceramic that stays gentle on delicate teas.

  • How it lives with you

Pieces made for every day, and lovely enough to leave out on the table.

  • Made to last

Every piece comes with simple care guidance, so it stays beautiful pot after pot.

Our approach

Many traditions, one ritual.

Tea has been made beautifully all over the world, each tradition with its own shapes, materials and gestures. We draw on many of them, and bring them together around one simple idea: taking the time to make a good pot of tea.

OOLO itself stays quiet, so each piece can keep its own character: black iron, clear glass, painted porcelain.
