Before First Use & Care

Before first use

  • Wash the teapot, lid and infuser in warm, soapy water, then rinse well.

Brewing

  1. Put your leaves in the infuser and set it in the pot.
  2. Pour in hot water and put the lid on.
  3. When the colour looks right, lift the infuser out so the tea doesn’t turn bitter.

Cleaning

  • Wash by hand in warm, soapy water with a soft sponge or bottle brush.
  • Rinse the infuser straight after use so leaves don’t dry in the mesh.
  • To lift tea stains, leave a little bicarbonate of soda and warm water in the pot for a few minutes, then rinse.

Precautions

  • On a gas or electric hob, use a gentle heat, always with water inside and the infuser removed. Never heat the pot empty. Not suitable for induction hobs.
  • Avoid sudden changes of temperature, such as rinsing a hot pot under cold water.
  • The glass and the steel lid warm up with hot water: hold the pot by its handle as you pour.
  • Don’t use the pot if the glass is chipped or cracked.

Isn’t glass fragile?

Made for hot water

Isn’t glass fragile?

The body is borosilicate glass, the kind used for oven dishes and laboratory ware because it copes well with heat. Give it a moment rather than plunging it from hot to cold, and it’s made for everyday use.

And if it ever arrives damaged, send us a photo and we’ll send a replacement or refund you in full.

Why watch it brew?

The ritual

Why watch it brew?

Because colour tells you more than a timer. Green tea turns pale gold, black tea deepens to amber, and the moment it looks right, you lift the infuser out.

A short pause, and a better cup.

  • See it brew

Clear glass lets you watch the leaves open and judge the strength by colour.

  • Fine steel infuser

A stainless steel mesh that holds loose leaves back, then lifts straight out.

  • Five sizes

From 450 ml for a quiet cup to 1.3 L for the whole table.

Before you buy

Good questions.

Anything else? Write to us, we’re happy to help.

Can I pour boiling water into it?

Yes. The body is borosilicate glass, made to take water straight from the kettle. Just avoid sudden changes of temperature, such as rinsing a hot pot under cold water.

Can it go on the hob?

Yes, on a gas or electric hob over a gentle heat, always with water inside and the infuser taken out. Never heat it empty. It isn’t suitable for induction hobs.

Which size should I choose?

450 ml or 550 ml for one or two. 750 ml for sharing a pot. 950 ml or 1.3 L for the family or for guests. The full measurements are under Details & Specifications above.

Can it go in the dishwasher?

We recommend washing it by hand in warm, soapy water. Rinse the infuser straight after use, so leaves don’t dry in the mesh.

Will leaves get into my cup?

The fine steel mesh holds back loose leaves. With very fine teas, such as rooibos, a few specks may slip through. Our brewing guide has more tips.

What if it arrives broken, or I change my mind?

If anything arrives damaged, send us a photo and we’ll send a replacement or refund you in full. You can also return it within 30 days of delivery: see our returns and refunds policy.
