Before First Use & Care

Before first use

  • Wash the glass pot and infuser in warm, soapy water, then rinse well. Wipe the wooden lid with a damp cloth.

Brewing

  1. Put your leaves in the infuser and set it in the pot.
  2. Pour in hot water from the kettle and put the lid on.
  3. When the colour looks right, lift the infuser out so the tea doesn’t turn bitter.

Cleaning

  • Wash the glass by hand in warm, soapy water with a soft sponge or bottle brush.
  • Don’t soak the wooden lid or handle, and keep them out of the dishwasher. Wipe them dry after each use.
  • To lift tea stains, leave a little bicarbonate of soda and warm water in the pot for a few minutes, then rinse.

Precautions

  • Not suitable for the hob, the microwave or any direct flame. Boil your water in the kettle, then pour it in.
  • Avoid sudden changes of temperature, such as rinsing a hot pot under cold water.
  • The glass warms up with hot water: hold the pot by its wooden handle as you pour.
  • Don’t use the pot if the glass is chipped or cracked.

Why a wooden handle?

The feel of it

Why a wooden handle?

Because your hand notices. Wood stays comfortable to hold while the pot fills with hot water, and its warm grain softens the glass.

It’s the kind of pot that stays on the table long after the tea is poured.

Isn’t glass fragile?

Made for hot water

Isn’t glass fragile?

The body is heat-resistant glass, made to take water straight from the kettle. Give it a moment rather than plunging it from hot to cold, and it’s made for everyday use.

And if it ever arrives damaged, send us a photo and we’ll send a replacement or refund you in full.

  • See it brew

Clear or smoke grey glass lets you watch the leaves open and judge the strength by colour.

  • Lift-out infuser

Take the leaves out the moment the colour looks right, so your tea never turns bitter.

  • Warm wooden handle

Comfortable to hold, even when the pot is full of hot tea.

Before you buy

Good questions.

Anything else? Write to us, we’re happy to help.

Can I pour boiling water into it?

Yes. The body is heat-resistant glass, made to take water straight from the kettle. Just avoid sudden changes of temperature, such as rinsing a hot pot under cold water.

Can it go on the hob?

No. With its wooden handle and lid, this teapot isn’t made for the hob or any direct flame. Boil your water in the kettle, then pour it in.

Clear or smoke grey?

Clear shows the true colour of your tea, from pale gold to deep amber. Smoke grey is a softly tinted glass, for a quieter, moodier look on the table.

Which size should I choose?

500 ml for one or two cups. 800 ml for sharing a pot with family or friends.

Can it go in the dishwasher?

Please wash it by hand. Keep the wooden lid and handle out of the dishwasher and don’t leave them to soak: wipe them dry after each use.

What if it arrives broken, or I change my mind?

If anything arrives damaged, send us a photo and we’ll send a replacement or refund you in full. You can also return it within 30 days of delivery: see our returns and refunds policy.
