How to Use & Care

Before first use

  • Wash the teapot and lid in warm, soapy water, then rinse well.

Brewing

  1. Warm the pot with a little hot water, then pour it away.
  2. Add your loose leaves, pour in hot water from the kettle and put the lid on.
  3. When the tea is ready, pour: the holes at the spout hold back larger leaves.

Cleaning

  • Wash by hand with a soft sponge and warm, soapy water.
  • Rinse the spout holes after each use so leaves don’t dry in them.

Precautions

  • Not suitable for the dishwasher or the microwave, because of the gold-coloured trim.
  • Don’t put it on a hob or over a flame: heat your water in a kettle.
  • Avoid sudden changes of temperature, such as rinsing a hot pot under cold water.
  • The ceramic warms up with hot tea: hold the pot by its handle and keep a finger on the lid as you pour.
  • Don’t use the teapot if it is chipped or cracked.

Why such a small teapot?

Tea for two

Why such a small teapot?

Four hundred millilitres pours two generous cups: an afternoon tea for two, or a whole pot just for you.

A small pot means you brew it fresh each time, set out the cups, and sit down while it’s still hot. That’s the whole ritual.

Do I need a strainer?

Loose leaves

Do I need a strainer?

Not for most teas. Small holes at the base of the spout, inside the pot, hold back larger leaves as you pour.

For very fine teas, such as rooibos or broken leaves, a small strainer over the cup catches the last specks.

  • Two cups

About 400 ml, for tea for two.

  • Filter holes at the spout

Larger leaves stay in the pot as you pour.

  • Pink roses, three grounds

White, pink or green, with a gold-coloured trim.

Before you buy

Good questions.

Anything else? Write to us, we’re happy to help.

How much does it hold?

About 400 ml, two generous cups. It stands about 13 cm tall with the lid, and 18 cm wide from spout to handle. The full measurements are under Details & Specifications above.

Is there an infuser?

There’s no separate infuser: you put the leaves straight into the pot, the traditional English way. Small holes at the base of the spout hold back larger leaves as you pour. For very fine teas, use a small strainer over the cup.

Can it go in the dishwasher or microwave?

No. The gold-coloured trim contains metal, so wash the teapot by hand with a soft sponge and keep it out of the microwave.

Can it go on the hob?

No. Heat your water in a kettle and pour it into the pot.

Will it look exactly like the photos?

Very close. The rose pattern, the glaze and the gold-coloured trim can vary slightly from one teapot to the next, and screens also show colours differently.

Is it a good gift?

A lovely one for anyone who loves an afternoon tea, or a friend setting up a new home. Delivery takes 7–14 days in total, Monday to Friday (2–4 days processing, then 5–10 days shipping, both Monday to Friday), so order a little ahead for a birthday.

What if it arrives broken, or I change my mind?

If anything arrives damaged, send us a photo and we’ll send a replacement or refund you in full. You can also return it within 30 days of delivery: see our returns and refunds policy.
