How to Use & Care
Brewing
- Fill the fish infuser with loose leaves.
- Pour hot water into the mug, then set the lid on so the fish hangs in the water.
- When the colour looks right, lift the lid off: the fish comes out with it, and your tea is ready.
Cleaning
- Wash the mug, lid and infuser by hand in warm, soapy water with a soft sponge.
- Rinse the fish straight after use so leaves don’t dry inside.
Precautions
- Not suitable for the dishwasher or the microwave.
- The lid only rests on the mug: hold the mug upright and don’t carry it full in a bag.
- Avoid sudden changes of temperature, such as rinsing a hot mug under cold water.
- The glass warms up with hot tea: hold the mug by its tail.
- Keep hot drinks out of reach of young children. Don’t use the mug if the glass is chipped or cracked.

How much does it hold?
About 250 ml, one cup of tea. It stands about 12.5 cm tall with the ears, and 11.9 cm wide with the tail. The full measurements are under Details & Specifications above.
Which teas work best?
Loose-leaf teas and herbal blends with whole or large leaves. Very fine teas, such as rooibos or broken leaves, may let a few specks through the fish.
Does the lid screw on?
No, it simply rests on the mug, which is what lets you lift the fish out in one go. Keep the mug upright and don’t carry it full in a bag.
How do I look after it?
Wash the mug, lid and fish by hand in warm, soapy water with a soft sponge, and rinse the fish straight after use. Keep it out of the dishwasher and the microwave.
