Before First Use & Care
Before first use
- Rinse the pot and infuser with hot water two or three times, then pour the water away.
Brewing
- Put your leaves in the infuser and set it in the pot.
- Pour in hot water from the kettle, filling to just below the spout so it pours cleanly.
- When the tea is ready, lift the infuser out.
Cleaning
- Rinse with warm water only, without detergent.
- Don’t scrub the inside.
- Not dishwasher safe.
Everyday care
- After each use, empty the pot, take off the lid and let it dry completely.
- Store it somewhere dry. Cast iron left wet can show a little rust.
Precautions
- Heat your water in a kettle: don’t put the pot on a hob or open flame.
- Never cool a hot pot quickly with cold water.
- The body and handle warm up once filled, so pour with a cloth to hand.

The ritual
Made to linger
Cast iron holds its heat, so the pot can stay in the middle of the table while the conversation carries on. No rushing to finish before it goes cold.
The last cup pours almost as warm as the first.
Easy care
Is cast iron hard to look after?
Less than you might think. Rinse it with warm water, no soap, then let it dry with the lid off. That’s the whole routine.
And if anything isn’t right when it arrives, we’ll put it right.
-
Keeps tea warm
Cast iron holds its heat, so the second cup pours almost as warm as the first.
-
Infuser included
Lift the leaves out when the tea is ready, so it never turns bitter.
-
Three quiet colours
Black, grey or green, each with a finely ribbed lid.
Can it go on the hob?
No. Heat your water in a kettle and pour it in. Keep the pot away from hobs and open flames.
How much does it hold?
800 ml, about 4 cups. For the cleanest pour, fill it to just below the spout.
Does the handle get hot?
The cord wrap makes it more comfortable to hold, but cast iron warms up once the pot is full. Keep a cloth or tea towel to hand when you pour.
Will it rust?
Cast iron can show a little rust if it’s left wet. Empty the pot after each use and let it dry with the lid off, and store it somewhere dry. If anything isn’t right when your teapot arrives, get in touch and we’ll put it right.
Will it look exactly like the photos?
Very close. Cast iron is poured into a mould, so small differences in texture, finish and depth of colour from one pot to the next are normal, and aren’t a defect. Colours can also look slightly different from one screen to another.
What if I change my mind?
